NIDB-C Software Patch (New Updated on 25-03-2004)

This patch is for the NIDB-C Users. It may be recalled that under the new NIDB Retrieval System the browser hung when large volume of data is retrieved and displayed. Example: 1. When a user used the 'Or' option to query let us say the following: 'MOBILE' in the main description field and 'CELL' in the advanced description field1 and 'PHONE' in the advanced description field2 the browser invariably hung due to large volume of output data. Example: 2. Alternatively if a user just gives two digits of CTH ie the Chapter heading like '85' then also the browser hung due to large volume of output data. Solution: The problem was analysed and it was found that a very large amount of data was being sent to the footer display and this caused the browser to hang whenever the volume of data outputted was large. This problem has now been resolved satisfactorily if the attached file is deployed in the NIDB Retrieval System. The steps for deploying the patch file is listed in the attachment. New addition : This Patch is update of the earlier Patch. This Patch will allow the users to open the query result in MS-Excel format and save the same as an MS-Excel File. This patch will address both the issues mentioned in this page. If the user has not downloaded the earlier patch, by installing this patch both issues will get solved.
